A large number of native trees have been planted in the Green, to make this a very special wooded place in the future. More than 15 different species have been included, and a circle of Scots pine take pride of place. This is a tree that thrives on our light sandy soil - many can be seen around the village.

We expect lots of wildlife, particularly birds, to take advantage of the trees and shrubs we have planted here. Over 30 species of bird have been seen in the Green so far and many other species including kestrel, sparrow hawk, buzzard and even a peregrine falcon have all been seen flying over the Green. Some of the trees have berries or nuts to provide food for mammals and birds. |

The area inside the circle will remain as mown grass. Here is a wonderful, safe place for children to play, kick a football, or for families to have a picnic in fine weather. |
